BRIDGE Mission Program
Building Relationships, Inspiring Diversity, Grace and Ecology
The BRIDGE Mission Program at St. Simons Presbyterian Church is an adventure in mission and ministry that enables youth to build relationships with Jesus Christ, fellow participants, and new friends in faith while experiencing and inspiring diversity, grace, and ecology. Led by the BRIDGE Mission Program staff and volunteers, each week welcomes a different group to stay at SSPC for five-days of hands-on mission in Glynn County, Georgia. Worksites include homeless outreach, river/marsh cleanup, and work in disadvantaged neighborhoods. One day of the program focuses on experiential learning about care for God’s creation through visiting with a local environmental advocacy group and kayak tour of the marshes and rivers surrounding St. Simons Island.
Members of our church youth are planning to participate in the BRIDGE Mission this year. Thanks to the help with the Church Yard Sale in May, FPC Cleveland will be sending youth on the mission trip in June. Twenty students and adults from Cornelia, Clarkesville and Cleveland Presbyterian Churches will be headed to Saint Simons Island for a mission trip June 25-30, 2017. It sounds like a great mix of hard work and fun. Participants are encouraged to bring some extra money for Sunday night dinner, souvenirs, and snacks.
