The Youth will hold a fundraiser at the Mountain Laurel Festival in Clarkesville on Saturday, May 17, from 9 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Youth fundraisers provide funds for middle and high school youth to attend camps and conferences during the summer months. Graduate Recognition Sunday is May 25, 2008. We will honor those graduating this spring from high school, college, or graduate school. Contact the church office to provide names of graduates. Six high school students plan to attend the Montreat Youth Conference in Montreat, North Carolina, May 31 - June 7, 2008. Vacation Bible School (VBS) is scheduled for mornings, July 7 – 11, 2008. The theme is “Jerusalem Marketplace,” and the church building will be transformed to resemble a bustling First-century marketplace for VBS week. Camp Buc will be offered by Northeast Georgia Presbytery, July 14 – 19, 2008, for those who have completed grades 5, 6 or 7. The cost for Camp Buc is $345, and scholarships are available through the Presbytery office – 866-353-1743. Registration and payment deadline for Camp Buc Middle School Camp is July 3, 2008. A camping trip for middle schoolers is being planned for July 21 – 25, 2008. Last year our group camped at Bald Mountain Park in Hiawassee. We enjoyed the camping trip very much and may decide to return to Bald Mountain.
